Dance Fusion kicked off its 2024-2025 season in York last weekend at the Platinum National Dance Competition.
The team ended with 12 platinum Plus, 20 platinum, 6 high gold, 4 gold, 13 category champions, 31 top overall placements, 7 judges choice awards, 5 choreography awards, National Team Invites, Artist of the Year Solo nominations, 11 and under technique award, and ADCC Studio of Excellence Award.
It was a great way to start the season, and the weekend was full of firsts on the stage, awards, and dancing.
“I was really nervous going into the first competition of the season, it’s a lot earlier than we normally compete. I knew that we would go out there and put our best foot forward, but you just never know what to expect,” said Artistic Director Lindsay Pullara.
A new season means new, upcoming experiences: It was the first time hitting the competition stage performing their pieces, the first time competing for some dancers, and the first time most dancers competed in the Elite category.
The results and awards were exceptional for it being the first competition, and the dancers and teachers were very proud.
“The girls put their best foot forward and everything looked clean and sharp,” said Pullara.
Pullara is excited for the rest of the season.
“I am looking forward to seeing how each and every one of our pieces grow during the season. There’s so much room for improvement in these dances and I can’t wait to watch them get better and better,” said Pullara.
Dancers just competed this past weekend in Altoona at the All Out Dance Competition and will compete this upcoming weekend at Ticket to Broadway in Pittsburgh.
