D.B. featuring: James Oliver
Every week starting tight end and defensive end Duane Boone (a.k.a. D.B.) will interview a key player on the Tyrone Golden Eagles football team.
James Oliver the senior star running back burst on the scene last year as a junior. James has a bright future both on and off the football field.
He’s everything you expect as a running back. He has a unique balanced running style. He’s one of the main leaders of the Tyrone Golden Eagles who not only leads vocally, but by example. I talked to James recently about his life and his future:
D.B: What is your main focus in life?
J.O: “My school work.”
D.B: How would you describe this football season so far?
J.O: “Great, I feel like we can go far this year.”
D.B: Do you feel like this will be another standout year?
J.O: “Yes because I have another great line in front of me.”
D.B: What does the great James Oliver think about the night before a game?
J.O: “Going beast mode every down and giving my team all I have.”
D.B: How do you know when you’ve had a great game?
J.O: “When my team comes out with the win and my line feels great about what they did.”
D.B: How does a person become so good at what they do?
J.O: “Practice how you play and put in the extra time off the field.”
D.B: How could a person be so humble during the day but go “beast mode” at night?
J.O: “I don’t know, it just happens. Again, I like to thank my line for that.”
D.B: Who pushes you the most?
J.O: “My Dad and my coaches.”
D.B: Any last remarks?
J.O: “Go Eagles!”
So you can see that he’s a true student athlete. His plans after high school are to go to college not only for his athletic ability, but for his intelligence.
Stay posted for next week star!
