Congratulations to this year’s Eagle Eye Buck contest winners, senior Riley Corl and second-grade student Ethan Fletcher.
Corl’s impressive 8-point was voted the best buck of the year with 320 votes.
Her buck scored 116 ⅝. It was harvested during archery season on the morning of November 4th in Snyder Township.
“It was a slow morning and it happened to be the first deer that came through,” Corl said. “My dad grunted the buck into a 30-yard broad-side shot. The buck ran 60 yards down a hill until it finally dropped.”
According to Corl, it was the biggest buck she’s ever bagged.
This year’s other winner, chosen at random from all the non-winning entries, was second-grader Ethan Fletcher.
Fletcher harvested his spike in Blair County on the first day of buck season. Ethan was hunting with his brother and dad.
Ethan said was very excited, adding “It was the first buck I ever got.”
Congratulations to both winners and all of the hunters who harvested a buck this year.
Look for our annual contest to return in 2024!
