Tyrone Library Is Looking for Summer Help
The Tyrone Snyder Public Library is looking for student volunteers for a number of special events throughout the summer for kids. The events are great opportunities for TAHS students, especially National Honor Society members, to get a head start on their community service hours for next school year.
“We have a really small staff at the library, so when we do larger events, we rely heavily on volunteers to help out,” said Tyrone Library Assistant Director Lana Conrad.
Student volunteers will facilitate children’s activities such as crafts, STEM projects, or carnival games at a station or table. Instruction and training will be provided. Most activities are simple for teens.
“All of these events should be really fun, and simple for teens to perform. As always, we seek teen volunteers to help with ALL programs and/or work the checkout desk. I know a lot of our teens work in the summer, but it’s a great time for them to start their hours for the next school year,” said Conrad.
National Honor Society requires 30 hours of community service every year, but even if you don’t need hours you can still help out Conrad and the community.
“All of these events should be a lot of fun. On top of the fun, volunteering helps you to build job skills, meet new people, give back to the community, and it gives you the warm fuzzies inside,” said Conrad.
If you are interested in the hours and the events you can contact Lana Conrad via email at [email protected].
