The Tyrone Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams traveled to Central on April 22nd for a quad meet with Bellefonte, Huntingdon, and Central.
Tyrone boys went 3-0 on the day, beating Central 111-39, Bellefonte 80-70, and Huntingdon 95-55.
The boys are now 13-1 on the season, finishing second in the Laurel Highlands East, allowing them to compete against Hollidaysburg for the Laurel Highlands Championship at the LHAC Conference Meet.
The girls went 2-1 at the Central meet, beating Central 80-70 and Huntington 99-39, but losing to Bellefonte 95-55. The girls have improved to 10-4 on the season.
Boys
Senior Cian Hockenberry dominated in the throws, placing first in the discus and second in the shot put.
Sophomore Drew Irons had a great day as he placed first in the 400-meter and placed 3rd in the 200-meter and was a part of the winning 1600-meter relay with teammates senior Dante Novak, sophomore Caleb Whitby, and senior Aiden Detwiler.
Senior Logan Rumberger placed first in the high jump with a jump of 5-6.
The Tyrone hurdle crew continues to have success as they swept the 110-meter hurdles with junior Ashton Emigh placing first, sophomore Kyler Suhoney placing second, and sophomore Tyler Connelly placing third. In the 300 hurdles Connelly placed first and Ashton Emigh placed second.
Emigh also placed third in the javelin.
Whitby placed second in the 100-meter dash.
Aiden Detwiler placed second in the 800-meter.
Senior Thomas Sutt placed second in the 3200-meter and was a part of the winning 3200-meter relay team alongside teammates Dante Novak, junior Alex Brumbaugh, and Aiden Detwiler.
Brumbaugh also placed third in the 800-meter.
Senior Drew Escala placed third in the high jump.
Girls
Sophomore Sarah Chichester placed second in the 100 dash, and second in the 200-meter dash.
Chichester also helped the 400-meter relay place first with the time of 51.90, which included her teammates junior Nicole Ramsey, junior Claire Lehman, and senior Alayna Greene.
Junior Nicole Ramsey placed third in the 200-meter dash and she placed second in running long jump.
Sophomore Taylor Wrye placed third in the 400-meter dash and she placed second in the 800-meter run.
Junior Claire Lehman placed first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.9. Lehman was also a part of the 1600-meter relay that placed first with the time of 4:19 along with her teammates junior Alyssa Houck, sophomore Sarah Chichester, and sophomore Taylor Wrye.
Freshman Lola Woomer placed first in high jump, jumping a height of 5-0 and she placed second in triple jump.
Sophomore Josie Dickens placed third in discus, as well as third in shot put.
Senior Kylee Nelson placed first in javelin, throwing a length of 109-6.
