After recording their first and only win of the season against Windber on Wednesday, Tyrone returned to their losing ways on Thursday, suffering a 5-0 defeat at home against Somerset.
Most of the Golden Eagles’ matches were not competitive, as there was only one game won across all three singles matches.
Rhys Rawlings and JuJu Fisher won three games across two sets, which was enough for most games won by the team.
The boys’ regular season is over, but four players will compete at the District 6 doubles tournament on Monday.
Senior Ethan Dasher will be paired up with junior Caden Harris, while sophomore Wyatt Walls and senior Tyler Weston will make up the other Tyrone team.
The team ends the season with a 1-14 record.
While their record does not show a lot of success, the players had fun learning a new sport.
Unlike most of the teams they faced, almost all of Tyrone’s athletes had never played tennis before joining the high school tennis team.
