The Tyrone girls and boys swim team split their meet against Richland at home on Wednesday, January 22, with the boys emerging victorious 103-59 and the girls suffering another loss,112-44.
The boys improved to 7-1 on the season while the girls record fell to 0-8.
Overall, the boys continued their dominant season with the win while the girls continued to improve and lower their times.
The only double winner for the Tyrone boys was Patrick Van Kluenen in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke.
The boys also won two of the three relays.
Tyrone’s 200 medley relay team made up of Dylan Eckenrode, Cameron Nelson, Vinnie Maloney, and Eric Goodman won with a time of 2:15.88.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Patrick Van Kluenen, Lucas Bonsell, Isaac Yeskey, and Owen Dunklebarger earned first in 1:41.29.
Owen Dunklebarger won the 50 freestyle with a 25.59.
Lucas Bonsell took first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.74.
Isaac Ysekey won the 100 freestyle in 55.34, and Dylan Eckenrode won the 500 freestyle in 6:13.92.
On the girls’ side, the Golden Eagles lost to the Rams 112-44.
There were no double winners for the girls.
The only individual first place for the girls was Blake Pennington in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:30.47.
The relay team of Blake Pennington, Julie Kraft, Adalyn Jeffries, and Sophia Cowher won the 200 freestyle relay team with a time of 2:10.43.
Second-place finishers included Sophia Cowher in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Adalyn Jeffries in the 50 freestyle, and Blake Pennington in the 100 freestyle.
