Boys Sweep and Girls Split a Tri-Meet at P-O
The Tyrone boys track team was a double winner in a tri-meet with Bald Eagle and Philipsburg on Tuesday. They beat BEA with a score of 86-55 and PO with a score of 93-53.
The girl’s team also had a strong showing as they beat PO easily 98-51. However, their effort fell short against BEA as they fell 58-83.
For the boys, senior Parker Mitchell was a winner in all four of his events, leading the Tyrone team. He placed first in the 4×1, 100m, 200m, and the long jump. Not far behind was junior Zach Kohler who won both the 1600 and the 3200m runs.
The Lady Eagles were led by Tori Crabtree as she was a double winner in the 1600m run and the 800m run.
Freshman phenom Chesney Saltsgiver was also a double winner in the 400m dash and the triple jump.
Both Boys and Girls team will be back in action on Thursday as they face off against West Branch and Hollidaysburg.
