The Boys’ Junior Varsity basketball team dominated Bald Eagle 72-12 in Monday’s game.
Tyrone was able to put every one of its JV players on the scoreboard.
“The defense has taken strides from last season, and has been playing with relentless energy.” Junior Varsity Coach Joe Laukaitis remarked.
Tyrone’s leading scorers were sophomores Carter Gwinn and Ben Walk. Gwinn had 16 and Walk had 14 points.
Although the stats did not show, Mason Emigh forced many turnovers and got the ball to others to score. Emigh only plays the first half for the junior varsity team.
“I like how the team is improving and playing every week and the defense intensity is great.” Junior Billy Rudden said.
Rudden added 11 points to the scoreboard as junior Brayden Parsons also totaled 11 as well.
Tyrone came out in their man-press to open the game. The defense was very effective and forced multiple BEA turnovers which Tyrone turned into points in transition.
“The press defense created our offense because of the pressure and the steals we were able to create.” said leading scorer Carter Gwinn.
