The baseball season is here and head Coach Mark Savino and assistant coaches Kevin Soellner and Marvin Murry have high hopes for this season.
Jacob Belinda, Kayden Hunter, Seth Welch, Joey Gearhart, Matt Hample, and Kolten Taylor are the five seniors on the squad this year.
Belinda says “I’m so excited about the start of the season I think we’re going to be great but I’m also disappointed this is going to be my last year of high school baseball.”
Hunter says that this is going to be the best season he’s ever been part of and that there’s some good Juniors and Sophomores this year.
The weather hasn’t really been on the side of the baseball programs this year. When asked about the weather Savino said “It hasn’t been very good has it? Haha. But it is a pain in the butt though but both teams have to play in it so we can never use that as an excuse.”
“We have a great team we have a lot of senior leadership and amazing young talent to use,” said Mark Savino.
Hample says “I’m so excited for the year to begin it seems just yesterday our season was over and now we’re playing!”
The team has an opener at Huntington 4/5/13 and hopes to come out with a win.
