Bald Eagle Beat Golden Eagles, Tyrone Loses 3-1
Tyrone soccer lost its fifth consecutive game 3-1 to Bald Eagle on Tuesday night. Tyrone stared slow and failed to pressure Bald Eagle when on defense allowing them to complete easy short passes which wore Tyrone down.
To begin the game Bald Eagle showed clear dominance over the Golden Eagles. Tyrone failed to pressure the ball with urgency, giving Bald Eagle space to operate. Bald Eagle used this space to complete simple short passes to work themselves up the field. Defensive mistakes also played into Bald Eagles early lead. Ten minutes into the game Tyrone defended heavily on the far side of the field allowing a Bald Eagle player to make a wide open run through the middle and get an easy shot on goal.
Bald Eagle’s lead grew to 2-0 shortly after their first goal. Tyrone failed to close out on a far shot outside the 18 which somehow found its way into the goal.
However Tyrone answered back within the first half. Corey Johnston redirected a Blake Johnston free kick to give Tyrone their first goal of the game. The first half ended with the score sitting at 2-1.
Tyrone looked to equalize coming out of the half but could not get anything going offensively. The Golden Eagles only chance of the half came off a free kick directly in front of the goal on the 18. The shot was stopped at the goal line.
Bald Eagle controlled the game for the remainder of the game and scored a third goal on a solo run half way through the second half. The game ended with a score of 3-1 with a Tyrone Loss. Tyrone is now 6-5-2 in the mountain league and 6-9-2 overall.
