One benefit of moving the Backyard Brawl from the opener to the middle of the season is that students have more time to plan for the big game.
Members of the Golden Revolution Club surveyed students and one of the most popular requests was to have a pre-game student tailgate for the rivalry game.
The tailgate will be held in the high school parking lot from 3:30-5:15 this Friday, September 22. The free event is open to all TAHS students in middle or high school.
“I’m super excited about bringing the school together to support the football team,” said Ally Black, senior member of Golden Revolution.
Based on the results of their survey, numerous activities are planned for Friday afternoon.
The tailgate will feature music and classic tailgate games such as corn-hole, kan-jam, and spike-ball. Students are also invited to bring any other outdoor games that they would like to play.
There will be a tie-dye station where students can buy a t-shirt for $5 and make their own tie-dye with all necessary supplies included.
Supplies will also be available for students to make signs and posters for the game.
Before the players depart for Gray Field, students will gather and give the team bus a proper send-off.
The members of Golden Revolution are excited about this year’s tailgate and have spent lots of time organizing the event.
Senior Golden Revolution member Rylee Fleck attended the most recent tailgate in 2021 and is excited to see it make a comeback.
“I think the tailgate will be a great way to have fun and get the football game started,” Fleck said.
