Athlete of the Week: Zach Friday
Each week the Eagle Eye staff chooses an Athlete of the Week from nominations made by the vasity head coaches.
Sport: Soccer
Grade: 12
Accomplishments:
3 goals and 2 assists this week, 2 goals versus Central, 2 assists versus Cambria Heights, and 1 goal versus Clearfield.
Coach Nick Miller’s Quote:
“Zach has become one of the hardest workers on the team, and has come through as a clutch player in tight games. Twice this week we were down by a goal with less than a minute left and Zach scored with only seconds remaining to take us into overtime. His character as a player showed in the Cambria Heights game when he decided to pass the ball to a teammate across the goalmouth for an assist rather than take a selfish shot. His hustle is remarkable and it is because of his great efforts that he has come through as a valuable clutch player.”
