Athletes of the Week: The Golden Eagle Defensive Line
This week the Athlete of the Week award goes to the entire Golden Eagle Defensive Line: Ricky Reader, Nick Bonsell, Colby Pannebaker and John Chronister
Sport: Football
Grade: 11 & 12
Accomplishments: The defensive line recorded several tackles for losses, a sack and held Penns Valley to only one late touchdown in last week’s 34-6 victory.
Coach Jason Wilson’s Quote: “The defensive front guys have been working hard the last couple weeks on technique and explosion off the line. They created a lot of pressure last week and stood their ground against a bigger offensive line. They continue to improve each week.”

1. How did you first get involved in this sport?
Nick Bonsell: My dad took me to tryouts
John Chronister: I used to play backyard football with some friends and decided to give actual football a try
Colby Pannebaker: I decided to give it a whirl
Ricky Reader: My parents put me in football when I was younger and I’ve loved it ever since.

NB: My mom, because she raised me to be who I am.

NB: Go to college and get my business degree
JC: To attend Slippery Rock and get my teaching degree
