This week the Athlete of the Week award goes to the entire Golden Eagle Defensive Line: Ricky Reader, Nick Bonsell, Colby Pannebaker and John Chronister

Grade: 11 & 12

Accomplishments:   The defensive line recorded several tackles for losses, a sack and held Penns Valley to only one late touchdown in last week’s 34-6 victory.

Coach Jason Wilson’s Quote: The defensive front guys have been working hard the last couple weeks on technique and explosion off the line. They created a lot of pressure last week and stood their ground against a bigger offensive line. They continue to improve each week.”

1. How did you first get involved in this sport?

Nick Bonsell: My dad took me to tryouts

John Chronister: I used to play backyard football with some friends and decided to give actual football a try

Colby Pannebaker: I decided to give it a whirl

Ricky Reader: My parents put me in football when I was younger and I’ve loved it ever since.

2. What other sport(s) do you play?

NB: Hockey and Track

NB: Patriots

JC: Denver Broncos

5. Who is your hero? Why?

NB: My mom, because she raised me to be who I am.

JC: Drake, because he started from the bottom now he’s here

CP: My parents, for their unweathering support

RR: Trainer Dave, for always helping me out throughout every sport I do.

6. Favorite band/musician?

NB: The Pitch Perfect cast

JC: Childish Gambino

CP: Tyrone Marching Band

RR: Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus

7. Favorite movie?

NB: Pitch Perfect

JC: Saving Private Ryan

NB: Sour Worms and Peach Rings

9. What advice would you give younger athletes?

NB: Always try your best, and don’t take anything for granted

JC: Work Hard, Play Hard

CP: Keep your head up!

RR: Always push yourself and everyone around you. Never give up and be the very best you can be.

10. What are your future goals?

NB: Go to college and get my business degree

JC: To attend Slippery Rock and get my teaching degree

CP: Go to school and get a solid education

RR: To play college football and win states for wrestling this year
