Athlete of the Week: Ross Gampe

Coach John Franco’s quote: 

“Ross is a tremendous choice for Athlete of the Week based on his performance against Penn Cambria. He dominated the game on both sides of the ball as both a pass receiver with several receptions including two touchdown pass receptions and continually pressuring and sacking the quarterback.”


Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved in this sport?

Ross Gampe: “I started playing pee-wee football when I was in third grade. I played because I was bigger than everyone else and my dad played all his life.”

EE: What other sports do you play?

RG: Baseball and basketball 

EE: Favorite professional sports team?

RG: Pittsburgh Pirates 

EE: Favorite professional athlete?

RG: Ken Griffey Jr.  

EE: Who do you admire the most? Why?

RG: “My parents for putting my dreams before their own so I can do the things that I love.”

EE: Favorite band /musician?

RG: Lil Tecca

RG: Where the Red Fern Grows

EE: What advice would you give younger athletes?

RG: “Get in the gym. Hard work is the only way to accomplish your goals.”

RG: “My future goals are to attend Penn State and further my athletic career in either baseball or football.”
