Past Accomplishments:
Nick Vasbinder qualified for states 2 times as a sophomore and a junior. During his junior year he scored the most points for the team. Nick was looking forward to another successful year and was hoping to make another appearance at states.
Eagle Eye: How did you first get involved in this sport?
Nick Vasbinder: “I participated in the schools Track and Field Days and loved them. So I joined Jr. High Track and made my way up to Varsity.”
EE: What other sports do you play?
NV: “Soccer”
EE: Favorite professional sports team?
NV: “LA Galaxy”
EE: Favorite professional athlete?
NV: “Sidney Crosby”
EE: Who is your hero? Why?
NV: “My hero is between my father, who pushed me to do everything I could to be the best I can be, and my coach Josh Eger, who taught me what it means to be an athlete and such much more.”
EE: Favorite band /musician?
NV: “Slipknot”
EE: Favorite movie/show?
NV: “Lord of the Rings Trilogy”
EE: Favorite food?
NV: “Steak”
EE: What advice would you give younger athletes?
NV: “To have fun with what you’re good at. There is the point in doing something if you don’t enjoy it in the first place.”
EE: What are your future goals?
NV: “I hope to one day play for the Penn State Men’s Soccer team at University Park. I also want to possibly earn my doctorate in the future.”
