Athlete of the Week: Mikayla Harris

Each week of the season the Eagle Eye honors an Athlete of the Week chosen from nominations made by the varsity head coaches.

Junior swimmer Mikayla Harris

Sport: Swimming

Grade: 11

Accomplishments:

Mikayla won the 50 free (27.39) and the 100 back (1:12.48) vs Bellefonte to help the girls to a 84-83 win and she anchored 200 free relay to a 1st place finish.  The Girls overall are 2-1 with her being huge part.

1.     How did you first get involved in this sport?

When I first started swimming I took lessons. The teacher suggested I join the team, which I did. I have swam ever since then.

2.    What other sport(s) do you play?

Softball

3.    Favorite professional sports team?

Pirates (Starling Marte is my favorite player).

4.    Favorite professional athlete?

Ryan Lochte

5.    Who is your hero? Why?

Chris Pine; He is an amazing actor and I really look up to him.

6.    Favorite band/musician?

Austin Mahone

7.    Favorite movie?

This Means War

8.    Favorite food?

Pizza Casserole

9.    What advice would you give younger athletes?

Never stop trying and always push yourself to do more.

10.  What are your future goals?

Go to college and have a good life.
