Freshman, Kasey Engle is this week’s Athlete of the Week for Girls Varisty Basketball

Sport: Basketball

Grade: 9

Accomplishments:

Kasey scored 14 points  against Bald Eagle Area on Friday February 7, 19 points in the game against Huntingdon on February 8 to clinch the Mountain League and 23 in the game against Penns Valley on February 11. 

Coach Lucas Rhoades’ Quote:

 “Kasey is an extremely hard worker who puts in a lot of time in the gym to improve her game.  She takes advantage of every opportunity to get in the gym and shoot.”

1.     How did you first get involved in this sport?

When I was younger, my dad signed me up for a league and I became interested.

2.    What other sport(s) do you play?

Just basketball.

3.    Favorite professional sports team?

Philadelphia Eagles

4.    Favorite professional athlete?

Kevin Durant

5.    Who is your hero? Why?

Mr. Rhoades. He is an excellent coach and ever since I moved here he has given me so much confidence when I play.

6.    Favorite band/musician?

Jason Derulo

7.    Favorite movie?

Safe Haven

8.    Favorite food?

Pizza

9.    What advice would you give younger athletes?

Always work as hard as you can and never give up.

10.  What are your future goals?

I want to play basketball in college and become a physical therapist.
