Athlete of the Week: Duane Boone
Sport: Varsity Track
Grade: 12
Accomplishment:
1st place in the Mountain League Championships in the 400m, 6th in the 110 hurdles, and 3rd in the 1600 relay.
Coach Everhart’s Quote:
“Duane started the year exclusively in the throwing events, but when we asked him to help the team as a whole on the track by giving up the throws and putting his wide-ranging talents to use on the track, he did not hesitate. That’s why he is “All-State” to us in track as well as football—he’s a selfless guy with a lot of class.”
