Name: Austin Lucas
Sport: Football
Grade: 11
Accomplishments: Lucas is a key element to Tyrone’s impressive defense this year. Lucas has recorded 21 solo tackles so far. He had big shoes to fill this year with both of the Pattersons graduating. Lucas is the starting middle linebacker and has caused trouble on opposing teams running game all year. He sat behind the Patterson twins last year and got a lot of experience behind him. Austin has been getting better and better each game. Austin showed his true talent against Bishop Guilfoyle where he recorded an interception and 8 tackles. The biggest play of the game went into Austin’s hands. As the Bishop Guilfoyle quarterback tried to run to the outside to score a 2pt Conversion. This 2-point Conversion would have won Bishop Guilfoyle the game. Austin flew across the field and leveled the Quarterback who was just a yard short of the endzone. Lucas stepped up and made a huge play to win Tyrone the game.
