Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson: Week 8

Eagle Eye: What went wrong against Clearfield?

Coach Wilson: We needed to capitalize on our redzone drives. We were really efficient with running and passing on the first couple drives but we didn’t come away with any points. That changes the whole dynamics of the game when you go down 21-0 and it could have been an even game.

EE: Despite the loss, were there any outstanding individual performances this week?

CW: I thought our line did a good job again. They were opening up running lanes and blocking really well in the passing game.

EE: What do you hope to work on and improve for this week?

CW: One thing that I hope to improve is our tackling.

EE: With a tough team like Hollidaysburg ahead, what in the game plan changes?

CW: A similar game plan to last week in that we need to control the ball to keep their offense off the field. It will be a much bigger task this week with the size of Hollidaysburg’s front line.

EE: Is there a chance the team can make playoffs?

CW: There is still a chance but we really need to get a win or two to finish out the year and put us in good position.

EE: Next week is Homecoming.  As a Tyrone grad and former Golden Eagle football player, what are your favorite memories as a player?

CW: Winning the district championship. Over stats or anything else, there was no better feeling than walking off Mansion Park with a gold trophy.
