Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson: Week 7
Eagle Eye: How do you feel about that bounce back win against Bald Eagle?
Coach Wilson: This was a huge win for us to get back on track and beat a team that is right with us in playoff seeding.
EE: The offense had 362 total yards. How did they improve from last week?
CW: We had to be more balanced than what what we were last week.
EE: How would you describe Parker Mitchell’s performance in relief of Denver Light at QB?
CW: Parker played really well, he’s a great athlete that can play multiple positions and make plays.
EE: We had two turnovers. How are you going to stop turnovers?
CW: We need to hold on to the football. Turnovers and penalties are two things that we need to eliminate. We’ll work on more drills this week.
EE: What do you need to improve on offensively for this week?
CW:We need to continue to work on our blocking assignments and wide receiver blocking.
EE: What do you need to improve on defensively for this week?
CW: We need to continue to work on our tackling.
EE: Ryan Lezzer and Matt Collins are really good defensive players. How is your offense going to get past them?
CW: We need to run good routes against Lezzer and blocking on Collins. They are two very good football players.
EE: Were there any key players that stood out against Bald Eagle?
CW: We had several guys step up and get playing time on both offense and defense.
EE: With all the injuries, Tyrone has been forced to cancel JV games. How does that affect the varsity and the development of younger players?
CW: It definitely hurts getting the players game experience. I wish we could get them some games but we can’t fill all the positions to play a game safely.
EE: How do feel about the development of the special teams and kicking this year (kicking game, punting, kick coverage, returns, etc).
CW: Overall we’ve been pretty good. Each week we continue to replace injured players and guys continue to step up. It’s hard to get a rhythm when new guys are in each week.
EE: What’s your favorite salad dressing?
CW: Ranch
