Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson: Week 4
Eagle Eye: With a close win against Huntingdon, how did the team do overall?
Coach Wilson: Offensively we did well, defensively we need work on tackle. Fundamental mistakes. A lot of positives in the game also.
EE: With 482 total yards of offense, do you think the offense performed better last week than past weeks?
CW:Yeah, offensively we did really well. Eliminate off sides and eliminate long downs
EE: After lights 209 yard passing and 80 yards rushing, how do you think this will impact his confidence?
CW: Definitely a good game for him to gain confidence. Made several big plays in key situations. And that’s what playmakers do.
EE: The Defense gave up 292 rushing yards against Huntingdon, what will they need to improve on to stop other opponents from doing this?
CW: Better tackling.
EE: Coming into this week, what is the team goal?
CW:Number one thing is to work on tackling. Second is no offsides and last thing no turnovers.
EE: Who are the key players from P-O that you need to contain on offense?
CW: They are balanced on offense. They don’t do a lot of formations or plays but run them really well. We got to read keys and make gang tackles
EE: What is your main focus on Philipsburg this week?
CW:Get ourselves better. Learn from our mistakes that we did in the past.
EE: We’re three games into the season. Who on the team has stepped up in ways you might not have expected back in the summer?
CW:One thing is we sustained some injuries. Kenny McKernan has stepped up when needed him. Brandon Loose played a lot of running back for Gary.
EE: Phillipsburg is 0-3. How do you make sure that your team doesn’t overlook this game?
CW: Worry about ourselves. We got to improve on some things and don’t worry about their record.
EE: Do you like links or patties?
CW: Sausage links.
