Ask the Coach with Head Coach Jason Wilson: Week 3
Eagle Eye: How do you think the loss at Central will affect the team?
Coach Wilson: It puts a gauge on where we stand and where we need to be. We need to identify points of focus we need to improve on.
EE: How will the team bounce back this week?
CW: We need to get refocused and practice hard this week. We can’t overlook Huntingdon. One game at a time.
EE: Next week’s opponent is Huntingdon? What are their strengths?
CW: They have a really good running back and quarterback. On defense they stack the box and they are very aggressive.
EE: Last year against Huntingdon they came to our place and played us well in the playoffs. Do you think that they have a better team coming in this year?
CW: Yes, every team has gotten better in our conference for this year.
EE: What does the team need to work on from last week?
CW: The offensive line needs to do a better job at run blocking and doing their assignments. Running backs need to run through the holes and take the little yardage instead of running towards the sideline. We also need to work on the passing game. Defensively the line needs to hit their aiming points and be more aggressive. Defensive backs need to tighten up their coverage.
EE: With the loss of starting lineman Stevie Coyler, do you think someone can fill his shoes?
CW: We will find out Friday night. Its football. People need to step-up and take responsibility. Expect daily adversity.
EE: What is the main focus on next week’s game against conference rival Huntingdon Bearcats?
CW: Get healthy and get focused and worry about ourselves improving no matter what the score of the game is.
