Ask the Coach with Golden Eagles Head Coach George Gripp

Eagle Eye: What are your thoughts so far on the season?

Coach Gripp: We had a great start to the season, we suffered a key injury to a starter last week. The guys are battling through a couple of tough road losses, we hope to get things turned around quick.

EE: You lost 65-40 at Clearfield. How do you hope to defend Clearfield and altogether get revenge for the loss?

CG: We have to come out and match their intensity and toughness they play with. Also we need to recognize where their top three scoring options are at all times. Communication will be a big key.

EE: Your team is 9-4 so far this season and you have a nice stretch of games at home. Will this help you guys out for a good playoff spot?

CG: We certainly hope so, the guys love playing at home to get that extra lift the Dawg Pound gives us.

EE: What areas will the team need to make improvements on in order to contend in the district playoffs?

CG: Consistent scoring for all 4 quarters, rebounding, learning to play with a new rotation of guys.
