Andrea’s School of Dance is thrilled to announce its 32nd annual recital, “The Classics,” scheduled for June 7, 2025, at the Tyrone Area High School Auditorium. The curtain will rise at 7:00 PM, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. This exciting evening promises to take the audience on a musical journey through various eras, showcasing iconic classics that everyone will recognize.
Dancers aged 4-18 will take the stage, presenting an array of styles including tap, ballet, pointe, contemporary, modern, lyrical, hip-hop, and jazz. The recital will feature performances by all students from Andrea’s School of Dance in Bellwood, representing the communities of Altoona, Bellwood, Glendale, Huntingdon, and Tyrone.
What sets this recital apart is its exclusive focus on group dances from students of all ages and ability levels, spanning two to two and a half hours of captivating performances. The evening will kick off with an exhilarating opening number, “That’s Life,” followed by a diverse lineup of dance styles, concluding with a lively jazz finale. An intermission will provide a chance for the audience to enjoy the senior reel and support the Dazzling Dance Shoe Gala.
During intermission, audience members will have a final opportunity to vote in the Gala, with all proceeds benefiting the Pass It On Fund. This fund aims to extend the joy of dance to students who may not have the financial means to pursue their passion. Category titles will be awarded to the winning shoes based on funds raised, culminating in the crowning of the Ultimate Grand Winner by the end of the evening.
Tickets are available for $14 at the door, and seating is reserved.
For those interested in exploring their dance journey, Andrea’s School of Dance offers the Summer Dance Series for dancers ages 5-18, with four weeks of classes available. Students aged 9 and older can participate in Weeks 1-3, running from June 16 to July 11, while younger dancers aged 5-8 can join Week 4 from July 15-17.
Classes will resume in September, and registration is currently open.
