From behind the lens to behind the scenes, Logan Rumberger has spent the last three years shaping how Tyrone High School sees itself.
As the editor behind the Eagle Eye’s social media accounts and the voice of the award-winning TSPN podcast, Rumberger has built a multimedia presence that rivals professional standards.
“Logan has done a fantastic job for the Eagle Eye over the past few years. I think we have the best social media coverage of any high school news site that I have seen anywhere in the country, and Logan is a big reason for that. He has set the bar high, and we are going to miss him. I look forward to seeing what he will accomplish in college and beyond,” Tyrone Eagle Eye Adviser Todd Cammarata said.
Whether it’s spotlighting athletes with highlight reels or capturing Tyrone sports through @TyroneEagleEye, @tyronesportscentral, or @rumzmedia, Rumberger’s passion and hustle have left an unmistakable mark on Tyrone Area High School.
Rumberger also runs his personal multimedia Instagram account, @rumzmedia, and the popular Tyrone Sports/Barstool page on Instagram @tyronesportscentral.
The Tyrone Sports Central account on Instagram is where Rumberger is most active.
Remberger inherited the account from Tyrone High School Class of 2023 graduate Brayden Sloss, who also contributed to the Eagle Eye multimedia accounts and is a current sports marketing and multimedia major at Penn State Altoona.
“I originally started the page over COVID to allow families and friends to see Tyrone sports since they weren’t allowed to physically be there,” Sloss said.
When he graduated in 2023, Sloss handed over the account to Rumberger.
The account had exactly 700 followers when Sloss made his final post. Over the last two years, Rumberger has grown the account to over 1250 followers.
“I think he’s done a great job. I had the option to just turn it over to the Eagle Eye, but I wanted to give it to him specifically because I knew that he had the drive and the talent to run the page well and with passion,” Sloss said.
Rumberger’s content varies on each account. Traditional gameday and final score graphics, athletic achievement recognition, and highlight videos can all be found on the Eagle Eye account.
On his other account, he covers more than just sports. He also participates in popular trends like “Almost Friday,” where students send in comedic pictures of their peers weekly.
Rumberger’s content on his personal account is also much different, as it mostly consists of enhanced versions of his sports photography.
His photos come from multiple sports, including basketball, wrestling, track, and football. His most covered sport is wrestling, as he charges a slight fee in exchange for photographing wrestlers at various tournaments and competitions.
Rumberger has also been an award-winning podcaster for the Eagle Eye, having won multiple awards from the Keystone Media Awards and the Myron Cope Awards.
He has also been a well-decorated athlete at Tyrone and has committed to wrestling at Washington & Jefferson College. Rumberger is a three-time District placewinner, with his highest placing coming in third in his freshman year. He finished with 91 wins in his career, but likely would have surpassed the prestigious 100-win mark if not for injury-riddled junior and senior seasons.
Rumberger also returned to the gridiron this year for the first time since his sophomore year, where he made an impact as the team’s starting strong safety, and he’s also a member of the track team.
Next year at Washington and Jefferson, Rumberger plans to improve his skills in marketing and communications with the goal of being a marketing manager for a professional sports team.
Rumberger had a few people to thank for helping him develop his skills and guiding his career goals.
“I got into all of this because of Sloss, and I also looked up to Adam Zook when I was young because of the work he put into Eagle Eye, but I wouldn’t have the resources and opportunities I’ve had without my buddy TCamm,” Rumberger said, referring to his journalism adviser Todd Cammarata, and two former Eagle Eye editors.
