The Tyrone Golden Eagles baseball team is now five hundred with their 14 to 7 win over West Branch Friday night.
The game was a bumpy one the Eagles were down for most of the game until the 6th inning were they scored seven runs to take the lead from West Branch.
Zack Soellner had a 2 RBI hit to take the lead in the 6th inning. Tyrone didn’t stop after that with they added a couple more insurance runs.
“Our young kids really came up big for us this game. I’m happy that they competed and that we didn’t give up after getting down early” said Mark Savino.
Matt Hample pitched a complete game and the only runs he gave up were a seven run 3rd inning.
“Matt showed a strong showing after that 3rd inning collapse. He never gave up that’s why I left him in the game the whole game” said Mark Savino.
The fielding for the Golden Eagles was solid. West Branch put the ball in play but they couldn’t seem to get past the Eagles defense.
