Eight female and four male athletes from Tyrone’s sports teams were named to the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference fall All-Star teams for the fall sports season.
Senior Ashton Emigh was the only Tyrone athlete to be named to the football all-star squad.
Emigh had over 400 total yards of offense and four touchdowns, but on defense is where he really thrived with 16.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks and a pick a pick six.
Senior Nicole Ramsey was the Tyrone girls’ only first-team honoree. Ramsey, a four year letterwinner in girls tennis, was the district singles runner-up and half of the doubles team that also placed second this fall.
Marrisa Cacciotti, a Bellwood student who plays for Lady Eagles soccer, made the second team offense, and junior Alice Knarr made the second team for defense.
Junior Pyper Sparklin made it on the second team for her amazing goalie skills. Sparkin was one of the state leaders in the number of saves made this season.
Sophomore Kadence Berry made an honorable mention for offense. Her dedication to soccer throughout her career was rightfully recognized.
For boys’ soccer, there were two Tyrone athletes named to the all-star team. Junior Tytus Novak made the First Team East Conference after scoring 15 goals this season, and junior Gavin Tuskovich was a second-team all-star with 9 goals this season.
Senior Rylan Crowell made the second team hitters for girls volleyball. Crowell earned her 500th career kill this season.
Senior Abigail Anthony also made the second team for volleyball as a libero/defensive specialist. Abby reached her 500 digs during her volleyball season.
Senior Bailey Woomer was an honorable mention on the LHAC volleyball all-star team. Woomer has worked as hard as she could during her 9 years and has improved over the years.
Golf had one athlete who made the Laurel Highlands All-Conference team. Kaleb Sweitzer, who made districts this season, was named to the first team for golf.
“We would like to congratulate all the athletes for their hard work and accomplishments,” Tyrone Athletic Director Luke Rhoades said.
