2nd annual Eagle Eye March Madness Challenge winners receive prizes
Two seniors, a sophomore, and a freshman took home the 2nd year’s prizes.
It took longer than we expected, but the winners of the Second Annual Eagle Eye March Madness Challenge recently received their prizes.
The winners of the Tyrone Eagle Eye’s 2nd Annual March Madness Challenge are as follows:
First place belongs to senior Tom Williams.
Williams said that he does follow college basketball “a little bit” and used what he knew to complete his bracket.
He was most surprised when Wisconsin won.
“I know some stuff, not everything. But I chose Duke over Kentucky. Anybody but Kentucky,” said Williams,”Notre Dame and Kentucky was my favorite game [to watch] since it was so close.”
Williams will take home the first place prize – a $20 Sheetz gift card.
In second place is sophomore Jonathan Meyers. Myers also said he knew a bit about the teams, but also admitted that there was guessing involved as well.
“I looked at some of the statistics, then I went with my instincts,” said Meyers.
Third place was a tie with senior Aleic Hunter and freshman Tori Crabtree.
Hunter’s technique was mainly guessing with a little strategy mixed in.
“I picked the team that wasn’t supposed to win. Everyone else was choosing Kentucky, so I chose Duke,” said Hunter.
Crabtree filled out her bracket the way she thought it was going to end, and her thought was that the tournament would end with the best four teams. She also looked at a little bit of stats, but not a lot.
“I based my bracket off of the coaches too, and how they kept improving the teams,” said Crabtree.
Hunter and Crabtree will each be walking away with prizes of $5 Sheetz gift cards.
Congratulations to this year’s winners!
