2020-2021 POPS and Vocal Attraction Audition Details Released
Due to the early school closure, the audition process to join the 2020-2021 Vocal Attraction and POPS Extension will be different this year.
To audition students must send Mrs. Harris a video recording of their singing. The video must be sent between Monday, May 11th and Friday, May 15th. Mrs. Harris will not accept any audition after midnight on May 15th.
Students may choose any song that showcases their vocal range. For Vocal, how high or low you can sing and for POPS, one that shows whether you are a Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass. You can use a song of your own or you can sing your vocal line from one of the songs that your chorus was rehearsing for the spring concert if you were in chorus.
The audition should be approximately 1-2 minutes and must be submitted as a video recording.
Songs may be sung with accompaniment, or can be done a Capella. Please do not record yourself singing with another singer.
All students in grades 6 and 7 are eligible to try out for Vocal Attraction, and all students in grades 8th through 11th can try out for POPS Extension.
Completed songs should be emailed it to Mrs. Harris at [email protected] or [email protected].
Please make sure the following information is included in the email:
- Your name
- The title of your song
- What grade you will be in next year
- What email address you want Mrs. Harris to use if you are selected to be a part of next year’s group.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Harris using the same email addresses listed above.
Once all auditions are received and judged, Mrs. Harris will select next year’s group. An email will be sent to everyone who was selected to be a part of the group during the week of May 18th.
Please note that if you are going to be in seventh grade next year and you are selected to be in Vocal Attraction, you will need to have middle school chorus on your schedule because that is the class time when 7th grade group members learn their music.
