2014 Tyrone High School homecoming court
Tyrone will hold its annual homecoming ceremony this Friday before the home football crowd vs. Clearfield.
As in years past, twenty aspiring senior women will march onto the field with the escort of their choosing. The nominees were chosen as representatives of 20 sports, clubs and other extracurricular organizations at the high school. The winner is decided by a mix of student voting, community service through fundraising and personal interviews.
Last year’s homecoming queen was Jordyn Swogger, now a freshman at Lock Haven University.
“I’ve always wanted to be a part of homecoming,” said nominee Olivia Dickson. “I want my senior year to be special and homecoming is a big part of that.”
Homecoming is also considered important for returning alumni. The event is designed to have them feel welcomed home as they visit the school they once called home. The girls hoping to hear their name called for homecoming queen are as follows:
