Second Marking Period Middle School Renaissance Stars

The Tyrone Renaissance Foundation recognizes two students from each grade level every nine weeks for outstanding academic achievement, positive attitude, or overall improvement.  The nominations are made by the middle and high school teachers.

The Tyrone High Middle School Renaissance Stars for the second marking period are as follows:

Eighth Grade Stars

 

Madison and Mason

Madison Yothers & Mason Harris

Madison Yothers

Madison was chosen by the teachers on the Eight Grade Team.

Eighth Grade Team’s quote: 

“Madison is an awesome student. She is kind and friendly to peers and staff. In class, she is attentive and hard-working. Not only does she strive to succeed, but she helps peers to succeed as well.”

Eagle Eye: What does it feel like to be a Renaissance Star?

Madison: It makes me feel appreciated and it makes me want to keep being a good role model.

What’s your best thing about Tyrone?

The teacher’s love for teaching and kids. I also like that we have fun rewards, like SOAR.

What is your best subject in school?

Science, history, and vocal attraction.

Mason Harris

Mason was also chosen by the teachers on the Eight Grade Team.

Eighth Grade Team’s quote: 

“Mason is a diligent and focused student. During class, he is quiet and attentive. He works productively both individually and with peers. Mason is a great example of our middle school SOAR values.”

Eagle Eye: What does it feel like to be a Renaissance Star?

Mason: It makes me feel proud of my hard work.

What’s your best thing about Tyrone?

The friends I’ve made.

What is your best subject in school?

Algebra

 

Sixth Grade Stars

Chad Steele

Chad was nominated by Mr. Josh Zupon.

Mr. Zupon’s quote:

“Chad is growing into such a great, mature young man. He is improving in every way; his grades, attitude, work ethic… everything. Chad is a star. He is also a leader in the class. He is helpful with everyone in the class, including myself. Chad is so positive at all times. Simply put, chad is a star. He truly deserves this award!”

Eagle Eye: What does it feel like to be a Renaissance Star?

Chad: Awesome.

What’s your best thing about Tyrone?

Being with friends and Mr. Zupon’s class.

What is your best subject in school?

Gym.

 

 

 

Jillian Williams

Jillian was chosen by Mrs. Robin Chamberlain.

Mrs. Chamberlain’s quote:

“Jillian is a student who excels in many aspects of education. She is prepared for class, participates in discussions, works hard on her assignments, and is willing to help any student who may be in need of some assistance. She is a kind and caring girl who has great potential to be a leader. She has confidence, balanced with kindness; attributes that will serve her well over the next years at school.”

Eagle Eye: What does it feel like to be a Renaissance Star?

Jillian: My reaction is being proud and feeling that working hard and behaving really does pay off.

What’s your best thing about Tyrone?

My best thing about Tyrone is being able to have access to so many social events that give me an opportunity to make new friends. 

What is your best subject in school?

My favorite subject in school is math.

“Sarah is a wonderful, caring, and hardworking individual. She is always trying to reach out and help others. She is the life of the party and is always positive and happy. Sarah is a winner in everyone’s eyes.”

Eagle Eye: What does it feel like to be a Renaissance Star?

Sarah: It feels great! I never knew what this was until now, and I’m really excited!

What’s your best thing about Tyrone?

My best thing is, whenever I first moved here, everyone is so friendly. I got to make a lot of friends easily.

What is your best subject in school?

I love P.E. (Physical Education). It’s really fun and I learn a lot of new things. Also, I like math and science. They are related a lot and I love them both. I learn a lot and they’re both really fun too!

 

 

Balin Hand

The teacher on the Fifth Grade Team also nominated fifth grader Balin Hand.

Fifth Grade Team’s quote:

“Balin is everyone’s ‘Go to guy!’ He has a wonderful personality and always strives to do his best. He is outgoing, friendly, and hardworking. Balin shines very bright at TAMS in 5th grade!”

Eagle Eye: What does it feel like to be a Renaissance Star?

Balin: It feels good to be a Renaissance Star because everyone will recognize you.

What’s your best thing about Tyrone?

My favorite thing about Tyrone is the sports because we have baseball, football, wrestling, and basketball.

What is your best subject in school?

My best subject is math.
