Senior Carrie Vance added to her already impressive goal scoring resume, scoring four goals as the Lady Eagles soared past the Tussey Mountain Lady Titans 5-0 on September 15th, 2014.

“Tussey was a physical team. But our team came together and gave me the opportunity to put the ball in the back of their net,” said Vance, “It was an awesome feeling to score against Tussey.”

“It was a good win for us,” said Assistant Coach Tiffany Smith, “Tussey was a physical team. We had to push through injuries and lack of numbers, but the girls came together for a big win.”

Vance scored her first goal of the game on a pass from sophomore Audrey Bowser, to make the score 1-0 eight minutes into the first half.

With 26 seconds left in the half, Vance was slide-tackled by Tussey Mountain’s Alex Watkins in the 18 yard-box. Vance was awarded and converted a penalty kick, making the score 2-0 Tyrone at the half.

The Lady Eagles opened the second half with a run by Vance to make the score 3-0.

A short 10 minutes later, Junior Reagan Plowman received a free kick just outside of the 18 yard-box. Plowman put the ball over the defenders heads, and Bowser put it in the net, making the score 4-0.

Vance struck once again with 2 minutes left, making the score 5-0.

Junior Madison Noll registered her first shutout as Tyrone’s goalkeeper, and Vance recorded her second hat-trick of the season.

“It was exciting getting my first shutout as a goalkeeper, I couldn’t of done it without the support of my team and coaches” said Noll.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Thursday September 18th, against the  Bald Eagle Area Lady Eagles at 7:00pm, in Bald Eagle.
