Tyrone Marching Band Places First at Mechanicsburg HS

The Tyrone Golden Eagle Marching placed first Saturday, October 8 at Mechanicsburg High School. The show had a total of 17 marching bands from the Harrisburg area and a few bands from Maryland.

The bands from group 1A at Mechanicsburg were Upper Dauphin High School and Tyrone. Upper Dauphin is from the Harrisburg area and is in region 6 which is the Harrisburg/Capital Region. 

The competition began with the Tyrone Marching Band at 6:05 to kick of the show. 

Tyrone recieved a score of 83.115 with an award for high percussion. The TAHS Band is currently ranked seventh out of 37 marching bands from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.  

This Saturday October 15, 2016 the Tyrone Golden Eagle Marching band will travel to Dubois Area High School and will compete against Brockway Area High School in group 1A.

The Tyrone Golden Eagle Marching band will perform “The Elements” at 6:45 pm to begin the group 1A section of the competition at Dubois.  

The competition at Dubois will begin at 6:00 pm. The first band to perform will be St. Mary’s High School at 6:00 pm.

The Dubois show will be the final competition for Tyrone before the region 11 championships at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and the Atlantic Coast Championship series at West Shore Stadium in Harrisburg on November 5th 2016.
