Heartbreak seems to be the word that has been stuck with Tyrone’s JV all year long. This past Monday, heartbreak struck again as the JV squad lost to Clearfield 7-0.
RaShawn Hicks stepped up his game as he was moved to quarterback, throwing passes to his “other half,” Jamal Hicks.
As it has been for most of this year, Tyrone’s defense excelled. Jamal Hicks started the ball rolling in the first drive of the game with an interception.
In the second quarter, Clearfield made the score 7-0.
Tyrone couldn’t seem to get anything going until late in the second half. As the game went through, some of Tyrone’s Varsity members came on the sidelines to help out and support.
With the motivation, Tyrone kept driving down Clearfield’s throat, but could never capitalize.
On the last play of the game, Hicks threw an interception that would seal Tyrone’s fate.
“We had some new members step up this week in new positions. No matter how hard of a battle we fought, I wouldn’t want to play with anyone else,” said RaShawn Hicks
“We never know who is playing where until five minutes before we leave for the game. Even with the loss of people we have each week, we still fight to the very end as brothers,” said sophomore Grayson Putt.
Tyrone’s JV will play Central Mountain at home for the last time this season next Monday.
