After a heartbreaking loss to Penns Valley on December 18, Tyrone wrestling visited Ligonier Valley the next day hungry for a win. The team delivered with a 48-29 victory that featured seven pins by Golden Eagle wrestlers.

The pinfest began at 170 with sophomore Tommy Hicks getting a fall against Ligonier Valley Miller in 3:22.

Then senior Aric Reader got his first pin of the season when he pinned Jon DeSchepper in 0:40.

Senior Jack Lewis’s match at 195 was a win with a forfeit.

Senior Braeden Nevling-Ray, 220, added another pin against Alex Torrance in 2:23.

With the fastest pin of the night and his first pin of the season, sophomore Parker Allen, 285, pinned Ben Balthaser in 0:39.

Then freshman Ashton Sipes, 106, pinned James Brown in 1:21.

Tyrone forfeited the match at 113 and there was no match at 120.

At 126, sophomore Mason Walls pinned Bjorn Sigurdsson in 1:47.

Tyrone forfeited the match at 132.

Senior Brandon Ixtepan, 138, lost a tough match to Peyton Matson 20-5.

Tyrone sophomore Noah Sprankle, 152, pinned Shane Abbott in 1:40.

The final match at 170 was a heartbreaking loss for Zack Lash. Lash was pinned by Clayton Matson in 2:12.
