The 13-5  Lady Eagles soccer team will make their way to Bald Eagle Area High School on Saturday, October 31 at 3:00 pm (the game was rescheduled due to rain on Wednesday, October 28), for their first playoff game of the season against Mountain League rival Bellefonte Lady Raiders.

“The girls worked hard to get to a 3-seed and I think it proves how well they can play,” said assistant coach Tiffany Smith.

For the first time in school history, the Lady Eagles took the 3rd seed in the district. The highest the Lady Eagles were ever seeded before this year was 7th.

The Lady Eagles soccer team has also had the best record girls soccer has ever had (13-5) beating the previous record of 11-7 set during the 2012 season.

Bellwood senior Marissa Panasiti broke TAHS grad Carrie Vance’s record for most goals scored in a single season with 33 goals to Vance’s 27.

Senior Madison Noll beat out BAHS grad Alayna Robert’s record for the most shut-outs in a season with four shut-outs this season to Roberts’ three.

“My defensive line is the key to my success, and I couldn’t do it without them,” said Noll.

The Lady Eagles have scored 86 goals this season (4.78 goals per game) and have let in 36 goals (2 goals per game).

The Bellefonte Lady Raiders have scored 48 goals this season (2.67 goals per game) and have allowed 36 goals (2 goals per game).

“Bellefonte is not an easy team, so the girls will need to work hard to prepare this week, however these are games they should want, the games where the win actually means something,” said Smith.

If the Lady Eagles beat Bellefonte they will play the winner of the Bedford Lady Rams and the Forest Hills Lady Rangers in the next round.
