The Look Ahead: Central Mountain Edition

This Friday the Golden Eagles make their way to Central Mountain. This is another bounce back week for the Eagles after their tough loss against the Bison of Clearfield.

The Eagles may need to have a heavy rotation of fresh legs this week to keep up with the Wildcats of Central Mountain, a large quad-A school.

Another factor that may come into play is the fact that Eagles suffered some injuries to a few key play makers over the past couple of weeks.

As of a few weeks ago, the Eagles main focus has been running the ball. However look for the Eagles to have a big game through the air this week.

Senior signal caller Drew Hunter has been looking good and will try to exploit a Central Mountain defense that has been giving up a lot of yards and points this season.

Hopefully the Eagles will be able to put up some points early and can pound the ball later to run down the clock.

On offense the Wildcats will probably look to run a lot, with a few passes here and there. They have had a rough going against some of the stiff defenses that they have faced, but they are still a potent offense. The Wildcats have an experienced group returning on the offensive side of the ball so they will hope to use that to their advantage.

On defense, the Eagles will look to shut down the run game and make the Wildcats pass the ball to win. They will do this by closing down the gaps on their traps and making sure that the Wildcats’ option doesn’t burn them. Tyrone’s outside players will also have to be on their toes so that they can’t make any plays in the passing game.

If you want to see the Eagles in action, make the drive up to Central Mountain to see the showdown between the Tyrone Golden Eagles and the Central Mountain Wildcats.
