My favorite thing to do is to socialize with the animals so they have some interactions and aren’t lonely

“Bev is involved in shelter events and fundraising and is always willing to help out in any area of the shelter,” said Central PA Humane Society Board Member Sue Bryan, “Congratulations for giving your time and love to all our very special animals.”

Eirich has been a volunteer at the Central PA Humane Society for almost two years.

Unless she has a cross country or track meet, Eirich spends most of her Saturdays at the shelter helping to care for the animals.

Some of the jobs she is responsible for are cleaning the small animal cages, the lobby, bathrooms, and the visitation rooms.  She also spends lots of time interacting with the animals.

“My favorite thing to do is to socialize with the animals so they have some interactions and aren’t lonely,” said Eirich.

Eirich loves what she does and encourages others to volunteer there as well.

“Animals are constantly being dropped off. The Humane Society falls behind with all of the work that has to be done.  It’s a nice thing to do to volunteer,” said Eirich.

The shelter is open Monday-Thursday from 12:30pm to 4:30pm, Friday from 12:30pm to 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30pm – 4:30pm.
