The Tyrone High School and Middle School concert band students will host the 2018 Junior High County Band Festival on Monday, January 29th, and Tuesday, January 30th.

The seven high school and middle school musicians from Tyrone will have the honor of participating in the festival are Becca White, Paige Webster, Sara Herr, Meaghan Foster, Evan Snyder, Joe Fadgen, and Jacob Greene. The students were chosen by TAHS Band Director David Hock.

This year’s musical selections include Festival of Flight, Amen!, Evening Song, Apples, and America Forever March. 

The concert is on Tuesday, January 30th at 7:00 pm at Tyrone High School. The band students will wear the marching band uniforms of their schools for the concert to represent their school.

This year’s county band festival will be under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Jim Colonna of Messiah College.

Mr. Colonna is the Director of Bands at Messiah College where he teaches graduate instrumental conducting and conducts the Messiah College Wind Ensemble.

The Blair County school districts that will participate in the festival are Tyrone, Bellwood-Antis, Altoona, Spring Cove (Central), Claysburg Kimmel, and Hollidaysburg, Holy Trinity, Williamsburg, and Bishop Guilfoyle.
