Shaw Propels Eagles to Third Straight Victory
Lady Eagles dominate against Tussey Mountain for third straight win
Led by junior Sydney Shaw’s 25 points and Emily Lehman’s 18 points, the Lady Eagles demolished Tussey Mountain 65-46 for their third straight victory.
The Eagles opened the game on an 11-1 run fueled by two big three-pointers from Sydney Shaw ,three more points from Mia Kosoglow and two from Senior Emily Lehman.
Tussey Mountain could do nothing more than watch as the Lady Eagles continued the early momentum to the end of the opening frame. The first quarter finally came to a close for Tussey Mountain as the Lady Eagles possessed an 18-5 lead.
Senior Payton Wagner came off the bench in the second and performed well adding 10 points. If she can continue this trend she can provide the much-needed spark off the bench the Lady Eagles could use to fuel a deep run in the playoffs.
The second quarter was once again dominated by Tyrone, they dominated on both sides of the ball holding Tussey Mountain to only 13 points while putting up 16 of their own. The first half came to an end with Tyrone still holding a promising 34-18 lead.
Tyrone kept up their domination on both sides of the ball in the third quarter outscoring Tussey Mountain 21-6. Tyrone remained in complete control for the rest of the quarter, the third quarter came to a close with Tyrone holding a 33 point, 55-24 lead.
Tussey Mountain tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter holding Tyrone to only 11 points, but they ultimately fell short losing 65-46.
With the victory, the Lady Eagles have now won three straight and now hold a 6-6 record on the season. The Lady Eagles put their 4 game win streak on the line on Wednesday when they take on Penns Valley at home, tip is a 7:30PM.
