How has the pandemic affected your life?

The pandemic was the worst thing that has happened to our country and the world in a long time. The way Covid-19 affected me, for starters, is that I was actually pretty scared that I would get very sick or I was going to possibly lose a family member to it. Covid-19 affected my sports and sports is everything to me. My football season was shortened and every day our team faced daily adversity. My coach, John Franco, told us every day, “Expect daily adversity. You have just got to overcome the challenges that you face every day.” So our football team exceeded the challenges and then ended up falling short by 3 points in the D6 championship.

What have you learned as a result of the pandemic?

What I have learned throughout this crazy pandemic year is that you just have to overcome daily adversity and the challenges you face every day. Another thing that I learned during the pandemic was that I am a little bit of a clean freak and wash my hands a lot because of the germs and everything.

What worries are you experiencing now?

One main thing that I am worried about right now is the cases at my school spiking rapidly and my baseball season ends before our season really starts. I am worried about this happening because last year our baseball season ended short and my team and I were very upset and wished our season would have never ended.

What are some positive things that have come out of the pandemic?

Positives that have happened during the pandemic is that I have become more selfless and I’ve kept more to myself during the past year. As much as I love being around people, for the first few months I was not around many people and became selfless.

What are your hopes for the future?

What I hope for the future is for everything to open back up and we can get rid of the masks that we wear. Also, I would love for all sports to open back up full way so anyone could go and watch the sporting events.
