Lady Eagles explode past Lady Warriors for 1st win of season

The Tyrone Lady Eagles exploded for ten goals to record their first win of the 2015 season against the West Branch Lady Warriors.

The Lady Warriors played aggressively at the start and gave Tyrone a run for the first few minutes.  However, it became clear early on that the Lady Warriors could not match Tyrone’s conditioning and quickly faded.

Bellwood senior Marissa Panasiti led the team with three goals and two assists, recording her first hat-trick of the season.

Bellwood freshman Riley D’Angelo and junior Audrey Bowser added two goals each, and senior Hannah Bowser, sophomore Chloe Makdad, and freshman GG Bowser each had their first goals of the season.

Senior keeper Madison Noll received her first shutout of the season with the help of Bellwood senior Christina Kowalski. The Tyrone defense in gernral was dominating, allowing only two shots on goal, both of which came near the end of the game against Tyrone’s backups.

Tyrone’s next game tonight against Phillipsburg should provide the Eagles with more of a test, although Tyrone did defeat P-O twice last season.
