Mr. John Rossman will be retiring after 14 years as a Special Education teacher at Tyrone Area High School.

“His students love him he’s a great inspiration to them and they look up to him,” said fellow teacher Mr. Joshua Zupon.

Zupon, who works very close with Mr. Rossman, said “He has really shown me how to be patient with the students and not get frustrated.”

“If I can take anything from him is that if you care enough about your students they will do what you want,” said Zupon.

Mr. Joshua Zupon and Mr. Mike Funicelli both say that he was caring and that he gave everything he had to his students. He didn’t want to let them down and always gave them his best.

Mr. Funicelli is a long-time friend and golfing partner  Mr. Rossman. Funicelli like Zupon said that he is a very passionate and patient teacher and always gave his students the best.

“I’m going to miss our morning chats, we’re usually the first ones in the school and would just talk about what’s going on and stuff” said Funicelli.

Mr. Rossman, who said he “didn’t want any attention” respectfully declined to be interviewed for this story.
