How has the pandemic affected your life?

The pandemic has touched all of our lives in different ways, whether positive or negative. We all have been impacted by COVID and our lives have changed dramatically. I personally despise the virus. I feel like I have been cheated out of so many good experiences that I could have had last year (the High School Musical and the Washington D.C. trip) and I feel saddened by the notion. COVID has taken away our daily routines and flipped them upside down.

What have you learned as a result of the pandemic?

I feel like I have learned how important it is to follow directions and rules. If there was no mask mandate/shutdown/curfew, I feel like our situation would be much, much direr. We could be deeper down the rabbit hole and our death toll would be much higher.

What worries are you experiencing now? How are you currently coping?

I mainly dread another shutdown. I don’t feel like U.S. citizens would take a shutdown very kindly. We have been closed down for so long that it feels like we have little to no freedom in today’s world.

What are some positive things that have come out of the pandemic?

I don’t feel like anything positive has happened to me from the pandemic.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope that the vaccines work well and protect our friends and families from COVID. I hope that our case/death toll will continue to drop and we will be able to open cities back up, to remind us that we are free.
