Tyrone Area FFA members and more than 400 other first year FFA members and officers were engaged in various leadership workshops at the Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona on Monday, October 5, 2015.

“Building from the Bottom Up,” was the theme for the conference.

“This was my first year attending the Fall Leadership Conference. I attended the President’s session where I learned how important SMART goals are and how to properly use them within the chapter and in life. I met people from all over the state, from the Ohio border, all the way to Lancaster County,” said Tyrone Area FFA Chapter President Brandon Decker.

This event encouraged agriculture students learn about career development, leadership, and attend National Convention.

Tyrone Area FFA members Chloe Case, Toni Burns, Destiny Sullivan, Alexis Brode, Brandon Decker, Jaylon Beck, Mariah Simondale, Baylee DelBaggio, Katrina Hagenbuch, and Maddie Veit were the chapter representatives.

“It was better than I thought it would be,” said first year member Chloe Case, “FFA is a lot of fun and you meet all kinds of new people.”

“I got to meet so many people,” said first year member Destiny Sullivan, “Though it was my first FFA conference I felt so comfortable.”

Chapter Treasurer Katrina Hagenbuch added, “[The leadership conference] was a great trip. I learned many new ideas that I can take back to the officer team and to our chapter.”

The next big event for the Tyrone FFA Chapter will be attending the National Conference at the end of October.
