How has the pandemic affected your life?

The pandemic affected my life in many different ways. At first, I didn’t get to have my varsity softball season as a freshman and which meant I couldn’t play with my close friends that were seniors. Then, my mom lost her job, and my family and I were struggling financially for a little while. And lastly, my sister works at UPMC Altoona in the NICU with COVID, and was dealing with it every day and was at risk of contracting the virus.

What have you learned as a result of the pandemic?

Don’t take anything for granted, even the little things because they can be taken away from you in a matter of a week.

What worries are you experiencing now? How are you currently coping?

The worries I have are my older family member and my parents getting COVID. My gram is almost 90 and I know if she gets Covid she most likely is not going to be able to get better, and my mom also struggles with severe asthma.

What are some positive things that have come out of the pandemic?

A positive thing is being able to spend more time with my family.

What are your hopes for the future?

That everything goes back to normal.
