Dance Fusion Earns 9 Platinum Awards in Lancaster

Tyrone’s Dance Fusion Competition Team successfully kicked off their first competition weekend on February 18-20 at Nexstar in Lancaster.

Dance Fusion took a total of 19 dances in solo, duet, and trio dancers and received a total of nine platinum awards, 10 high gold awards, nine category firsts, four judges choice awards, and two Power Pak invitations.

Medal scoring goes from silver to high silver, to gold, to high gold, and the highest award is platinum.

Freshman soloist Alivia Anderson received a platinum medal, first in the modern category, and was awarded the “Contemplative and Creative” Judges Choice Award.

Senior Paige Shultz and freshman Alivia Anderson’s duet received a platinum medal, first in the contemporary category, and second overall.

Juniors Lizzy Fryer and Marley Grazier, and sophomore Kenzie Lewis’ trio received high gold and eighth overall.

Sunday senior soloists had to wait all weekend until they could compete.

Junior Sage Rumberger received a platinum medal, first in the modern category, first overall, and a Power Pak invitation.

Shultz received a platinum medal, first in the contemporary category, and third overall.

Grazier received a platinum medal and was awarded the “Outstanding Expression” judges choice award.

Dance Fusion’s next competition will be held at the Altoona Convention Center.
