Penn’s Valley brought the fight to Tyrone earlier this week, playing them at home, for their second matchup of the season. Their previous face-off ending with the Rams walking-off Tyrone 2-1.

Tyrone wasn’t waiting around for Penn’s Valley to get ahead however, and had an explosive third inning, making the score 3-0. Tyrone’s baserunning was a big part of the scoring, with them having four stolen bases on the day, two coming from sophomores Gayge Miller and Ashton Walk. The other two coming from the speed of Senior Joshua Patterson.

Starting pitcher Caiden Bonsell would have a good day, only allowing one hit in three innings, and held Penns Valley to no runs. Ross Gampe would come in to work relief, and wouldn’t give up any runs until the sixth and seventh innings, where the Rams would rally, tying the game with three runs between the two innings.

With the game tied, and Tyrone wanting to avoid extras to save on their pitching, AJ Coleman stepped up to the plate with Ross Gampe on second. He would put a single into right field allowing Gampe to score from second, winning the game, and sending Penn’s Valley empty handed.
Tyrone’s record now stands at 9-8.
